Have you tried it on a new (temporary) profile, with no extensions or plugins installed, and the same site open? It could be an issue with one of the extensions or plugins you're using.

3.5.2 is out. Give that a try.

I haven't noticed any issues with 3.5.1. In fact for me, 3.5 has so far consistently used far less ram than 3.0.x did.

3.5 was a disaster for me, and I reverted to 3.0. I might venture it again now at 3.5.2, depending on what it says was fixed, or maybe wait for 3.6.

My system slowed down while searching and kept not being able to find servers on the first try. Seems to be back to normal with 3.5.2. I've never had a problem before. Just started acting up when the new Firefox came out.

  8. Hmm!
I use that browser myself and it is working flawlessly.
From this we can deduce that the problem is a result of something local on your side. Perhaps you've installed some wild add-ons that are not yet compatible with the new version?
Shut down all add-ons and try them one by one, to see which causes the leak. Then wait until it is updated. Perhaps that is the way to avoid the problem.

When I had Firefox 3.5.1, my FireFTP utility would occasionally shut down saying, "insufficient system resources." Heck, I've got 2GB of RAM. Anyhoo, when I got 3.5.2, the problem magically disappeared. Perhaps that's why 3.5.2 came out so quickly after 3.5.1.

Use Firefox 3.5.2. I had a problem with 3.5.2 (and 3.5.1)-they would have trouble acquiring some sites. They would get stuck or act slowly. I made a backup of my settings using MozBackup and then uninstalled the program leaving the settings untouched (an option given when uninstalling Firefox.) Do not erase settings or they will be lost upon restart. I then installed 3.5.2 and have been off to the races since.
Don't forget to backup your new Firefox profiles after installing and checking functionality.
