I burned a rmvb format video file to a DVD-R disc to save space on my computer and delete the one in my computer.

I'm using Media Player Classic to play the file.

There is no problem before burning the file to my DVD-R disc. It means I can play the file on my computer without problem.

After I burn the file into a DVD, then play it inside the dvd disc, the sound become choppy.

Then, I try to copy it back to a folder in my computer and play it inside the folder, the choppy sound had gone and I enjoy the video.

But, why the problem occurred when I play the file on my DVD-R disc?

  2. It might be bad media (bad quality disc), or maybe your DVD drive is faulty or set to PIO mode

What is PIO? Can you explain?

  4. PIO is an older transfer method that is slow on the IDE channel

Just check the channel in the device manager and make sure the channel is set to DMA (right click my computer, hardware tab, device manager, IDE/ATA controller) Your DVD drive might be connected to your secondary channel depending on your setup, so right click that => properties => advanced settings

I insert my DVD into USB DVD drive to try. There is no problem when using my USB DVD Drive. Now, I confirmed it is the problem of my internal DVD drive.

    Thank you for your reply.
