    i want to play some SD video using data disk DVD or USB...other than streaming or encoding the subs into the video, is there any codec/container/etc. that can play switchable subs on both PS3/XBOX360?

    You might try Divx with Xsubs. The PS3 does not do external subs at all. The only other choice is to author a DVD with switchable subs.

    As far as I know, the Xbox 360 only supports the subs found on authored DVDs, no other kind.

    k, thanx for the info buds, DVD it is then...now if only there were a way to get switchable subs for HD on xbox360 as well as ps3 oh well, 1 step at a time hehe, thanx again for the info!
