  1. I'm very new so please be patient with me. I have posted the question in "subtitle" forum but did not really get much response. So I'm asking the same question here again. I have a DVD and I want to add subtitles and upload it onto youtube. I'd like to know the easiest way without sacrificing quality. There are so many file formats/software out there and I have no idea which is which. I saw a guide by Matrix on this site but it was written in 2004. I don't know if that's obsolete or is still the right guide to follow. I'd be very grateful if someone can tell me the steps/procedure (don't have to give details as to how to use each software, I will try to figure that out myself) as to use what software to generate what kind of file. Again, I'd like the easiest way that preserves (as much as possible) the quality of the video. I do have a subtitle tile .ass made from Aegisub though.
I'd like to have something like:
    1. use X software to convert VOB to .xxx file
    2. use Y software to add subtitle... (or convert .ass file to .xxx file)
    ...
use Z to slip the file to smaller pieves,
    etc.
Thank you very much in advance!
